The shop features necklaces, earrings, bracelets and more handcrafted by Burnt Hills resident and Schenectady native Deborah White, a retired elementary school teacher.
“I’ve been doing the craft show circuit, but really wanted to have a place I called home,” White said. “With so much revitalization underway in the city, I’m thrilled to have my shop now open in Schenectady where I grew up.”
White’s pieces feature Swarovski crystals and Dakota Stones featuring 22 different kinds of semi-precious gemstones in various styles and colors mined from across the globe.
“What I am most proud of is that I handcraft all the pieces I sell at my store,” White said of her creations. “I set my bar very high. If I’m not happy with a piece, I take it apart and start again. I only sell pieces that I, myself, would want to wear — and many times I do. Because of this, my pieces are all unique.”
She began making her jewelry more than 6 years ago, first selling pieces to friends and co-workers and later as a craft fair vendor.
The store is named for her kids, Kate and Chris.
